Teenage boy bitten by dog in Poole

Police are looking to trace the owner, after an incident in Sea View Road

A teenager's been treated in hospital after being bitten on the leg by a dog in Poole.

It happened between 10.30 and 11.00am last Tuesday morning (18th June) as he walked in Sea View Road.

Police are searching for the dog's owner, who left without giving her details.

She's described as:

  • Five feet tall
  • Long brown hair
  • Aged in her 40s
  • Wearing a black top with ‘GUESS’ written across the front in white print
  • Dark blue trousers

The dog is described as black and stocky - wearing a black harness and on a lead.

PC Callum Mercer, of Bournemouth police, said:

“This incident resulted in a child requiring treatment to a nasty leg injury.

“We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and as we have now obtained full details from the victim, we are now in a position to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to hear from a man described as five feet nine inches tall, aged in his 30s and wearing a blue tracksuit who reportedly intervened to help the child when the incident occurred.

“I would also urge the woman involved to please do the right thing and get in touch with us so we can take your account of what happened.”
