A popular food truck in Weymouth has been badly damaged by a fire.

Scott Sanders discovered the blaze at The Munch Box on Lynch Lane yesterday morning (Wednesday 17 January).

He believes the fire was caused by an electrical fault from the boiling water tap.

They will be closed for at least the next week while the clean up operation takes place.

He has launched a Go Fund Me Page to help pay for the repairs.

Scott's told us there's a lot to clean up:

"It's not massive damage but it's just the smoke. I didn't think smoke could go in drawers and cupboards! When you open a cupboard up, it's just the amount of smoke and debris from that. It was just such a shock to open the door and think 'why's it so dark in here' - it's awful, horrendous."

He's also said the excess cost on his insurance would mean he'd actually lose money if he claimed for the damages:

"When you're self-employed, things like this you've got to pay for. It's just having the funds to carry on going. I've had to throw quite a lot of stock and equipment away, that have got black and burnt.

"The biggest problem is the amount of soot that's been left behind. Just cleaning that off the walls is going to take days and days."
