Man suffers serious head injury in Bournemouth assault

A man's suffered a serious head injury in an assault in Bournemouth.

The incident happened just before 4.45am this morning (Sunday 24th December) in Charminster Road - with cordons still in place locally for police investigations to be carried out.

It's believed a man in his 40s from Poole has been assaulted by another man.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell, of BCP CID, said:

“An investigation is underway and I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened.

“I am also appealing to any member of the public who may have captured any relevant footage, or has information to assist our enquiries, to please get in touch.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area as we carry out extensive enquiries at the scene and would like to thank the public for their patience while the cordon is in place. Officers can be approached by anyone with any information or concerns.”
