A man in his 70s has been knocked to the ground and robbed off his wallet in Bournemouth.

The victim was approached by a man on a bike, just before 1.00am last Tuesday morning (22nd August) in Wellington Road.

The offender left the scene, in the direction of Lidl, when the victim shouted out for help.

A 42 year old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He's been released on bail while enquiries continue.

PC Jo Morgan, of Boscombe Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to please come forward.

“In particular, I understand there were a number of vehicles on Holdenhurst Road, including two taxis that were stationary in Lidl car park at the time of the incident, and I would urge the drivers to please get in touch if they have any relevant dashcam footage.”
