A man's been jailed for three and a half years, after being found guilty of burglary in Bournemouth.

44 year old Craig Barr, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court.

He gained entry to a property in Queens Park South Drive in June 2021, stealing jewellery, electrical items and vintage pieces of sentimental value.

A review of local CCTV footage showed Barr leaving the address with a yellow JD Sports bag and seen returning to his accommodation, carrying a matching bag and wearing similar clothing.

The following day, Barr was arrested shortly after a burglary at a property in St Clement's Road in Bournemouth.

For that offence, he was jailed for 32 months in July this year.

Officers questioned Barr over the Queens Park South Drive incident while he was in prison.

Detective Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset Police, said:

“I would like to thank the victims for their support of this investigation and the witnesses who gave evidence at trial to help secure the conviction of this defendant.

“We fully recognise the traumatic impact of someone breaking into your home and we are committed to doing all we can to catch burglars such as Craig Barr and bring them before the courts to be held to account for their crimes.”
