Factory in Shaftesbury evacuated after fire breaks out

Three crews from Shaftesbury and Gillingham were called to Longmead last night

A factory in north Dorset had to be evacuated due to a fire.

Crews from Shaftesbury and Gillingham were called to the commercial premises at Longmead last night. (21 November)

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service say there were no casualties.

A spokesperson for DWFRS said:

"The factory was evacuated and firefighters used fire safety equipment kept within the site to extinguish the blaze.

"There were no casualties and the crews advised the site to cease operations until tomorrow morning on safety grounds."
