Drugs and cash seized by police in Christchurch
The discovery was made when officers stopped a car in Barrack Road
Class A drugs with a street value of £12,000 have been seized in Christchurch.
Police stopped and searched two people in a car in Barrack Road at around 11.00pm on Sunday 23rd April.
A woman was found in possession of class A drugs.
Searches were then carried out an address, where officers discovered thousands of pounds of Class A drugs as well as a large quantity of cash.
A 26-year-old woman, from London, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply and possession of a class B drug.
A 26-year-old man, also from London, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Both have been released on police bail as officers carry out further enquiries.
Sergeant Cameron Thompson, of the BCP Neighbourhood Enforcement Team, said:
“Through Operation Viper we have been relentlessly pursuing those suspected of being involved in the supply of illegal drugs in our communities.
“This incident involved collaboration between traffic officers, patrol units and the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team to uncover a significant quantity of suspected illegal drugs and disrupt the activities of individuals believed to be involved in the supply chain.
“We will continue our efforts to make Dorset a hostile place for those reported to be involved in drug related activity and we would urge members of the public to report any information to us."
