One of West Dorset's main fireworks displays has been cancelled.

The event at Dorchester Rugby Club, due to be held tomorrow night (Saturday 5th November) won't be going ahead.

They've said they've taken advice from the team behind the display.

In a post on their social media, the Rugby Club says:

"Wind, rainwater, muddy pitches, and fireworks do not make for a safe display, and safety has to be our primary concern.

"We are all gutted, but (weather permitting again!) we will be back with a bang next year."

Anyone who bought tickets will be contacted by email for a refund.

As it stands, Weymouth's display on the seafront, is scheduled to still be going ahead.
