CCTV image released after woman assaulted in Stuminster Newton

Police are also urging the victim to come forward

Police are trying to trace a woman who was reportedly assaulted by a man in Sturminster Newton.

The incident was witnessed by a third party who said they saw a man assaulting a woman outside One Stop shop on Station Road at 11.48pm on Monday (5 June).

Officers attended, but were unable to locate the man or the woman.

Police Constable Nick May, of Dorset Police, said: “Since the report, we have been making enquiries trying to identify the individuals involved. Unfortunately so far, we have been unable to do so.

“As we need to identify the victim to ensure she is safe and well, I am appealing for anyone with information about her identity to please come forward.

“Also, I am now in a position to release an image of a man I would like to speak to.

“Anyone who recognises him or has further information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact police.”
