12-year-old boy targeted in Christchurch attempted robbery

A man grabbed the victim and tried to take his bike

A 12 year old boy's been the victim of an attempted robbery in Christchurch.

Police are investigating an incident in Whitehayes Road in Burton at around 7.30pm last Thursday (30th May).

A man approached the boy, grabbing him by his clothing and trying to steal his bike.

The boy alerted his father, who was nearby, and the offender left the scene.

They're described as:

  • White
  • Aged in his 30s
  • Around five feet nine inches tall
  • Short shaved hair
  • Blond beard
  • Wearing a black jacket with red writing on the back
  • Black baggy trousers
  • Black trainers

PC Paul Humber, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the offender.

“I would also urge residents or motorists who were in the vicinity to please review any home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage around the relevant timeframe to see if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
