A Bournemouth man has been jailed after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary.
54-year-old, John Jones was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after committing two residential burglaries and stealing over £5000 worth of goods.
The first incident occurred in Iddesleigh Road on October 8, 2022.
The second burglary took place one week later, October 15, 2022, in Knole Gardens.
Jones stole a DKNY watch as a well as the contents of a jewellery box believed to be worth around £5000.
Detective Constable Ian Caddy, of Dorset Police, said:
“The impact that a burglary has on a victim is extremely distressing and can be long-lasting.”
DNA evidence, matching that of Jones, was recovered from both scenes.
A sock belonging to Mr Jones was also found inside the property at Knole Gardens.
Jones was subsequently arrested in November 2022 in connection with both incidents.
Detective Constable Caddy said:
“We remain committed to relentlessly pursuing those who commit burglaries such as these and will do everything we can to identify those responsible.
“We hope that our investigation to bring Jones to justice will serve as a warning to others looking to commit an offence of this nature.”
