Detectives investigating a reported kidnap in Bournemouth say they've identified the victim - and can confirm he's safe and well.

Dorset Police say they've also arrested a sixth person in connection with the incident.

It was reported a group of men were seen leaving a property while carrying a man in South Kinson Drive at around 9.25pm on Friday night.

He was put into a car - described as black and similar to an Audi A4 - before being driven away.

Today (Thursday 4th May 2023), a 44-year-old woman from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.

This follows a 38-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Bournemouth, a 19-year-old man from the Greater Manchester area and a 21-year-old woman from the Wareham area who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.

They remain in police custody.

A 32-year-old woman from Bournemouth also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Neil Third, of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said:

“Following detailed enquiries, we have now been able to establish the identity of the victim and can confirm he is safe and well.

“As the investigation continues, I am still keen to hear from anyone with information that may assist our enquiries.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area and I would encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak to the local neighbourhood policing team.”
