Official opening date revealed for B&M in Weymouth
The new store has created 80 new jobs
Another major retailer will soon be opening its doors to customers in Weymouth for the first time.
It's been confirmed that discount retailer B&M will open their brand-new store on the Weymouth Gateway site at 9am on Wednesday 30th November.
The store will sell food, health and beauty, cleaning, pet food, gifts, seasonal products, DIY essentials and homeware.
80 new jobs have been created.
Dunelm opened their new store on the same site last week.
Supporting charity
Staff at B&M were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from DEBRA – The Butterfly Skin Charity to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.
DEBRA is a national charity and patient support group for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as 'Butterfly Skin'. EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch.
Today DEBRA UK is a national charity supporting 3,000+ members, which includes people living with EB, relatives, partners, or carers of someone with EB, healthcare professionals and researchers who work with EB.
The store manager at B&M Weymouth said: “DEBRA – The Butterfly Skin Charity really stood out for us so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have both done. We hope that our donations can help them to continue the great work.”
The store manager also commented: “Our colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we’re all really excited to welcome our customers through the doors!”
