Weather warnings in place for most of England and Wales
There's already reports of flooding, wind and rain

It's a very wet and windy start to 2024 with several weather warnings in place covering most of England and Wales. The South Coast is worst affected area.
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected from the South Coast all the way up to Manchester and Hull.
The South Coast is covered by a more severe Amber weather warning for high winds and the Met office say it's likely there'll be power cuts, road closures and damage to buildings.
The warning is in place throughout today day from 10:00-20:00.
A statement on The Met Office website told us what to expect in the worst affected areas:
"There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
"Probably some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
"Longer journey times and cancellations likely, as road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected.
"Flying debris is likely and could lead to Injuries or danger to life.
"Some roads and bridges likely to close.
"Injuries and danger to life is likely from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties."
For more northern parts of the country and Wales, we're being told to expect some disruption on coastal roads and there's a warning for high-sided vehicles that may be affected by the wind.
