Two 12-year-old boys have denied murdering a teenager in Wolverhampton.

19-year-old Shawn Seesahai died after being stabbed on playing fields in East Park on 13 November 2023.

The youths, who cannot be named because of their age, were charged with his murder and possession of a machete.

Today (8 April), at Wolverhampton Crown Court they pleaded not guilty to murder but one boy has admitted possessing the weapon. They will both face trial.

In a tribute to her son after his death, Shawn's mother said: “Shawn Seesahai was a courageous, compassionate and confident young soul who sadly lost his life at the age of 19.

“He was looking forward to accomplish many future plans and ambitions. He cared dearly about his family and friends and he absolutely loved to help people. He was a generous person and had a good personality.

“We will always have him in our hearts.”
