36-year-old arrested after Swindon stabbing
A 39-year-old man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries

A 36-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent following a stabbing in Penhill.
The incident occurred at approximately 5.30pm yesterday (3 December), near the North Swindon Family Centre on Atworth Close.
A 39-year-old man is currently in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have witnessed what happened to come forward.
Chief Inspector Carly Nesbitt said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was near the North Swindon Family Centre in Atworth Close Swindon at about 5.30pm this evening who may have witnessed what took place.
“We recognise the concern that this incident will have had for those living nearby. Members of the public will notice extra police presence in the area over the coming days, if you have any concerns or information, please approach our officers."
She added that police are not searching for anyone else in connection with the incident, and there is not believed to be any ongoing threat to the public.
