A three-year-old boy remains in a serious condition in hospital following a fall from a window in Southampton.

The three-year-old was found on the ground at around 6:30pm on Wednesday (September 4th), prompting concern for his welfare.

Officers from Hampshire Police were soon called to an address on the South Front in the city, after it was reported that the boy had fallen from a window at the property.

The force currently remains at the scene following the incident to try to piece together the events that led to the boy falling.

Four people were arrested by Hampshire Police in connection with the toddler's injuries, which have been described as being "serious".

In total, a 26-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, a 45-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, all from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of neglecting or abandoning a child to cause unnecessary suffering or injury.

The four people have since been released on conditional bail whilst investigations into the fall take place.

All four suspects will be recalled to court on December 4th in relation to the incident.
