Princess of Wales to appear in public again but says she's "not out of the woods yet"
The Princess has released a statement on her cancer treatment and a return to some public engagements

The Princess of Wales will start attending some public events again as she continues her treatment for cancer.
Kate has released a statement after revealing she was having preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer back in March.
The Princess says she will be attending Trooping the Colour this weekend but added that the chemotherapy is ongoing and that she "is not out of the woods yet".
The princess will be joined by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in a carriage for the traditional procession to Trooping the Colour and later they will gather with other royals on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for the fly-past.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “His Majesty is delighted that the princess is able to attend tomorrow’s events, and is much looking forward to all elements of the day”.
Princess Kate says she is making good progress with chemotherapy
In the statement her Royal Highness updated the world on her health, saying she has made good progress, but that like many people undergoing chemotherapy she has good and bad days.
She goes on to say that she's starting to do a little work from home, as well as working on personal things that give her 'energy and positivity'
When will see Kate resume public duties?
This isn't a full return to public life for the Princess.
She will attend the King's Birthday parade this weekend and says she's hoping to join a few public engagements over the summer but also admits she is not out of the woods yet and will take each day at a time.
Princess of Wales' full statement:
I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.
I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.
My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.
I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.
I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

The pair led the campaign to support mental health when it launched in April 2020. It was created by Public Health England to highlight the importance of caring for mental health during Coronavirus. The TV film was narrated by the couple, including new advice on how to help people manage lockdown and the effect of Covid-19 on mental health.

William and Kate were pictured sitting together at the funeral of Prince Philip on the 17th April 2021. He died on the 9th April 2021 at the age of 99.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate a decade of marriage
William and Kate celebrated 10 years of marriage in April 2021. On the 29th April they shared portraits and a family video. The video featured them running around with their children, smiling and toasting marshmallows. Their message read: "Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary. We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C."

In May 2021, the couple ventured out on a royal tour of Scotland. During their visit they returned to the University of St Andrews where they first met.

The Queen's funeral
Prince William and Kate as well as Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended the Queen's funeral on the 19th September 2022.
The King's Coronation
Following Queen Elizabeth's death one of the first things the new King did was to make his son William the Prince of Wales, making Kate the Princess of Wales.
In May 2023 Prince William played a significant part in his father's coronation. After pledging his loyalty and allegiance to the new King, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined the new King and Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Towards the end of April the King announced he would be returning to public duties despite his ongoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
