The Princess of Wales has confirmed she's finished her course of chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Kate posted a video statement this afternoon saying she was relieved at finishing the treatment, but highlighted how tough it was for the whole family.

In the statement the Princess said " The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

"The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.

"With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything."

The Princess also confirmed that while she's not fully recovered, she is looking forward to undertaking more public duties in the future

Kate, who is continuing to work from home, is hoping to return to a light programme of public duties for the remainder of the year, reflecting her need to make a full recovery, and aims for a handful of engagements in the coming months.

She is also working towards appearing with the royal family at the annual Remembrance Sunday service staged at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
