Police horse attacked by dog in London park
Last updated 23rd Mar 2023
A dog has been seized after a police horse was attacked in Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets.
In a video which has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on Tik Tok, the animal which was off the lead bit the horse repeatedly.
Some viewers may find the following footage upsetting.
In a statement, the Met police said;
"On Wednesday, 22 March a dog was seized in Victoria Park, Tower Hamlets, after it attacked a police horse.
The horse required stitches and is expected to return to duty following its recovery.
The dog remains in police kennels and officers are in contact with its owner
No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."
The force issued pictures of PH Urbane's injuries, saying this acts as an important reminder to keep dogs on a lead if you can't recall them or get them under control.
PH Urbane is now said to be having some well-earned recuperation. He will hopefully be back on duty as soon as he has fully recovered but not before.
