Man extradited from Pakistan charged with murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford
She died in 2005 after being shot

A man has been extradited from Pakistan, charged with the murder of a Police officer in Bradford.
Sharon Beshenivsky died after she was shot in 2005 while responding to an alarm at a travel agents in Morley Street
PC Teresa Millburn was seriously injured in the attack.
Piran Ditta Khan was brought back to the UK on Tuesday and taken into custody at a West Yorkshire police station where he was charged with killing the mum of 3 and step mum of 2.
74-year-old Khan, who also faces weapons charges, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates court today.
Joanne Jakymec, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the CPS, said:
"A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford in 2005 has been extradited to the UK from Pakistan thanks to the continued hard work of prosecutors in the CPS’s Extradition and International Units.
“Since Piran Ditta Khan was arrested in Pakistan in 2020, our specialist prosecutors have been working closely with our Pakistani partners to complete the legal process in the country so that he could be extradited back to England to face the allegations from almost 20 years ago.”
The CPS go on to say:
"The CPS would like to remind everyone that criminal proceedings against Mr Khan are live and he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
"West Yorkshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) have extradited a man from Pakistan wanted in connection with the murder of PC Sharon BeshenivskyPC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford in 2005.
"Piran Ditta Khan, 74, was arrested by Pakistani Police in January 2020.
"Earlier today (Wednesday, 12 April) he was brought back to a police station in West Yorkshire and formally charged with six offences.
"He’s been charged with murder, robbery, two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon.
"Khan has been remanded into custody to appear before Westminster magistrates tomorrow. (Thursday, 13 April)
