Inquest opened into deaths of four Essex students killed in Colchester crash

An inquest has opened and adjourned into the deaths of four University of Essex students who died in a single vehicle collision in Colchester.
Essex police received reports that a car had collided with a building at 4.40am on Saturday 1 February.
The inquest heard, Makyle Bayley, 22, of Lowther Road, London was named the driver of the vehicle that was driving away from the town centre on Magdalen Street.
A pathologist help determine his provisional cause of death to be "severe traumatic head injuries".
All from London, Anthony Hibbert, 24, of Stanhope Parade, Daljang Wol, 22, of Warden Road, and Eva Darold-Tchikaya, 21, of Dickens Avenue, were passengers in the car.
Essex coroner's court heard the provisional causes of death of Mr Hubert and Mr Wol was "multiple injuries".
Miss Darold-Tchikaya's provisional cause of death was "severe traumatic head injuries".
Senior coroner Lincoln Brookes who led the inquest, attended the scene on the 1 February, on request of Essex police.
The hearing lasted between eight to nine minutes in total, according to court coordinator Andy Flack.
The investigation has been adjourned until July 18 whilst Essex police continue their serious collision investigation reports.
