Police launch murder investigation following the death of a man found in Tonypandy hospital car park

South Wales Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man, found seriously injured outside Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital car park, Tonypandy.

Officers responded to reports at 5:15 this morning (1st January) and have since arrested a man on suspicion of murder and taken him to custody.

The 30-year-old man has died as a result of his injuries, and his family have been informed.

There is a temporary road closure in place at Pen Dinas along the A4058.

In a statement, South Wales Police said: "Officers are appealing to anyone around the area of Pen Dinas at around 5am this morning and who may have seen or heard something.

"Officers are also appealing to anyone else who may have information to assist the investigation.
