The series first aired in 2007 and focuses on two families, one in Billericay and one in Barry, South Wales.
The first clips from the final episode of the hugely popular sitcom, which were shown during the Strictly Come Dancing finale, appear to centre around the main characters getting together for a weekend.
The show was co-created by Corden and Jones, and the 90-minute special is written and executively produced by them.
The festive episode picks up 5 years from the marriage proposal from Nessa to Smithy.
We asked people in Barry Island how they think the seaside town has changed since the programme started.
One person said: "It's definitely improved the Island, people come down just to take pictures."
"It's improved a lot in the last few years."
Another said: "It's brought a lot of trade and income to Barry.
"I think it's absolutely fabulous for the town in terms of its profile."
Marco owns the café where Stacey 'worked', he said: "It took a bunch of comedians and comedy writers to put a seaside town on the map and create jobs."
Marco said it's boosted his business and increased tourism in the area: "The beauty is that tourists come here because they are now curious.
"If you go on holiday, you're curious, you want to go and see this place and what it's like.
"That's what's happened with Gavin and Stacey..
....it's made Barry Island a curious place to visit."
