There's a renewed plea for information about what happened to missing York woman Claudia Lawrence on what would have been her 50th birthday.

She hasn't been seen since she failed to arrive for work at the University of York in March 2009.

Detectives believe the 35 year old, who lived in Heworth, was murdered - although no body has ever been found. Her family have previously said they'll never give up hope of finding her.

Paul Joseph is from the charity Missing People who have been working with Claudia's family: "A really really sad milestone, if you think in the time that she has been missing, having gone missing aged 35 and now aged 50 the amount of life things that happen in that time that Claudia would have missed out on."

"To be seeing someone's peers going through all those life things and something like a 50th which should be a huge joyful celebration and a chance to look back on someone's life and what they have achieved and you are just not able to do that because you just don't know."

"Families who we work with say everyday is difficult but when it gets to these milestones that can make it particularly difficult because you are then reflecting back on all that time when you have not had your loved one with you."

"We always want people to keep thinking about people who are missing, think if there is anything that comes to mind, anything that they remember that they might not have thought about before. Whatever has happened to Claudia and wherever she is, it's really important for her family to know."
