Police in Bath are releasing CCTV footage of an alleged burglar quite literally creeping around a house in the Widcombe area, as they investigate the theft of expensive jewellery.

Avon and Somerset Police say items including a diamond engagement ring and 12 expensive watches from brands including Rolex, Omega and Cartier were taken from two properties on the evening of Tuesday 19th November last year.

It's thought two offenders were involved.

Footage released by the police shows a man, dressed in all black and wearing a balaclava appearing out of a room on the first floor and then crawling along the landing, seemingly in a bid to keep quiet.

Officers believe the man is in his late teens or early to mid 20s.

They are asking anyone who knows where the man is, where the stolen jewellery is or who has seen the stolen items for sale, to call 101 and quote the reference number 5224308799.
