Two men have been arrested as police continue a murder investigation in Ingleby Barwick.

It follows a collision on Myton Way on Friday which claimed the life of a 60-year-old man.

The incident occurred just after the junction with the Rings just before 11:35pm.

Two men, aged 29 and 66, and from Ingleby Barwick, have been detained in connection with the crash.

Cleveland Police say they believe a white Citroen Berlingo van was intentionally driven towards people on the footpath.

The driver fled the scene before officers arrived, and the van was abandoned nearby.

Detectives add they don't believe the incident is terror related.

They add they are not yet able to name the man who died, but are continuing to support his family.

Cleveland Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw the collision or spotted the van to get in touch.

This includes any dashcam or CCTV footage that could help police with their enquiries.

Anyone who can help is being asked to call 101 and speak to the force control room, quoting reference number 024363.
