Woman dies after being hit by car in Middlesbrough
The crash occurred outside the Asda on Ormesby Road on Friday afternoon
A woman's died after being hit by a car in Middlesbrough.
The collision, which involved a black Land Rover and a pedestrian, occurred outside the Asda on Ormesby Road at 1:30pm on Friday.
The pedestrian, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died.
Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the Land Rover, a 39-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with the crash.
He's been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Cleveland Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or has dashcam footage of it, to come forward.
