Witness appeal after woman threatened in Hartlepool

Police are appealing to trace a member of the public who was at the scene of an incident whereby a woman was allegedly threatened with a knife in Hartlepool.

The alleged incident happened at around 4pm on Thursday 12th October on York Road.

Officers would like to speak to the male member of the public as he may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The member of the public spoke with an officer very briefly at the scene before the officer began to search the area. When the officer returned the member of the public had gone.

The 38-year-old female victim was unharmed during the incident.

A 27-year-old man was charged with threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place and was due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Saturday 14th October.
