Witness Appeal after Man is Injured as Thieves Steal Car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured as thieves tried to steal a car in Middlesbrough in the early hours of this morning.

At around 3.50am this morning, three male suspects broke into an address on Ling Close in Marton and then attempted to steal a Mini Cooper 7.

During the attempt to steal the vehicle, a 69-year-old man chased after the suspects and it is believed that he then fell and was hit by the car.

The suspects then got out of the vehicle and ran off.

The victim suffered a fractured wrist and minor leg injuries. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment, where he remains this morning.
