MEET THE MISS TEES FINALISTS 2016

Ahead of the Miss Tees Valley 2016 final on Friday (October 21), contestants gathered in the Cleveland Centre, who are sponsoring the annual event.

Friday’s Grand Final will see the girls on the catwalk for rounds including fashionwear, ‘go green eco fashion’ and evening wear.

They took the opportunity to show off their creations for the eco round when parading among the shoppers on Cleveland Centre’s Newton Mall.

Seventeen girls from Middlesbrough, Ingleby Barwick, Stockton, Thornaby, Redcar, Billingham, Hartlepool, Darlington, Catterick and Washington will compete for the Miss Tees Valley crown at the Grand Final at the Swan Hotel.

Stockton will be represented by 25-year-old barmaid and mum-of-five Terri O’Hagan together with performing arts students Annie Osborne, 19, and 17-year-old health care student Charlotte Hallat and 16-year-old GCSE student Katie Louca.

Middlesbrough’s representatives are 17-year-old students Abbie Wray and Hannah Causier, another 17-year-old student is Natasha Gray, from Eston, while waitress Amber Lockett, 17, lives in Ingleby Barwick.

Norton girl, beautician Demi Carberry, 18, and 19-year-old Thornaby kitchen assistant Fawn Elizabeth Philp are also in the final with 16-year-old students JamieLeigh Fletcher and Ellie Tyers, both from Hartlepool.

Other finalists are 16-year-old Redcar student Ellie Newton, 18-year-old fashion student Lydia Clapp, from Billingham, Darlington health care student Rachael Lowe, 20, care assistant Emily Davies, 18, from Catterick, and Washington A-level student Alisha Heddon, 17.

Cleveland Centre manager Graeme Skillen said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Miss Tees Valley once again.

“This isn’t simply a beauty contest – it’s about finding a talented girl who can represent the Tees Valley as a true ambassador for the area.”

The reigning Miss Tees Valley, is 19-year-old Rebecca Ridsdale, a diagnostic radiography student at Teesside University, will crown her successor on Friday.

This year Miss Tees Valley finalists are raising funds for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Normanby, Middlesbrough, with £45,000 raised for local charities over the past four years.

The 2015 competition has already raised more than £19,000 for Stockton’s Butterwick Hospice.

The winning Miss Tees Valley will qualify for the final of Supermodel England 2016, with prizes including an all-expenses-paid five-star trip to South Africa to represent England in World Supermodel.

They will also become the face of the Cleveland Centre, receive £500 to spend in the shopping centre’s stores, win a makeover and photography session from Flawless Photography Studios worth £990, a full makeover from Bellissimi Beauty and a £2,000 personalised portfolio website from Envied Events.
