A County Durham mum whose son was killed in a drink-drive crash - says using a mobile phone while driving can be just as dangerous.

Anita's son Nick Davidson tragically lost his life when he was the passenger in a double collision in Barnard Castle in 2014.

With party season just around the corner, Anita Thompson's backing a campaign with Durham Police to raise awareness of drink driving the morning after a night out.

This week more than 50 health advocates from over 30 North-East businesses have taken part in a drink and drug drive awareness workshop.

The event formed part of Alcohol Awareness Week, a national initiative taking place over the next few days.
