The family of a young man killed in a road traffic collision in Barnard Castle last week have paid tribute to him.

Officers were called to a three-vehicle collision in Dentgate Lane just before 6pm on November 11.

The incident involved two cars and a motorbike.

The motorbike rider, 20-year-old Shane Gaskin, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away the following day.

Shane’s family have paid tribute to him and said they wanted to thank air ambulance staff, emergency services and the staff at James Cook hospital who all tried their best to save him.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
