TFM has signed up to a partnership deal with Middlesbrough Football Club which will see former steelworkers across the region benefit from additional support.

The 'Steel Partner' deal for the 2016/17 season will see TFM feature heavily in and around the stadium, as well as raising crucial funds for the MFC Foundation's programmes.

Station Director, Dominic Munnelly, commented on the deal: "We are delighted to have signed this contract with the club as they embark on a new season back in the top flight.

"We have several exciting projects that we'll deliver with the club across the year, including live match day broadcasts from outside the stadium and exclusive ticket competitions.

"We recognise that Middlesbrough FC are deeply rooted in the Teesside community and by working together we'll aim to make match day experiences more memorable and bring more exciting events to the Riverside. It’s also important to us that the partnership will help ex-steelworkers in the area.

"On the station we aim to connect with our listeners through their interests and passions and we know that the Boro are right up there with what the people of Teesside care about.

"The action starts against Stoke when born and bred Boro lad and huge Fan, Scott Makin, broadcasts live from outside the stadium 2-6pm.”

Lee Fryett, Head of Partnerships said: “The club is delighted to welcome TFM as our latest Steel Partner.

"We have worked closely with their team to put together what we feel is a very exciting partnership which will allow them to directly engage with our fan base with a number of exciting projects planned.

"As with all our Steel Partners funds from the Partnership will be donated to the MFC Foundation to help their efforts in supporting ex steel workers in the local community.”
