Teesside warm space offering more services due to influx of people
Darker and colder nights are approaching
A warm space in Teesside say they have had to expand its use due to demand this year.
Many people will be using community areas as the clocks have gone back and the darker and colder nights approaching.
Emma Dacey is from Hope Church East Cleveland in Loftus and she said: "It's become a place where someone could meet other people, where they can get company and conversations, so for some, especially our elderly, who come along to our warm space, it's a really good place for them to connect with other people, to have conversations so they're not sad or on their own all day.
"Our space is very intergenerational, so we'll have toddlers at the warm space right through to OAPs. There's a real sense of where a community gathers, so it's been fantastic really.
"People really value that time for human connections as so much is done online, so to actually meet somebody face-to-face and have that human connection, people really, really value that in communities."
