Football fans are gathering later to watch England play Serbia in the Euros.

It's been three years since that heartbreaking Euro 2020 final, which saw Gareth Southgate's England miss out on winning the competition for the first time following a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Italy.

Euro 2024 kicked off on Friday (14th June) and will run until Sunday 14th July.

England were drawn in Group C alongside Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia.

Here in Teesside, fans will be cramming into bars and pbus to watch the match.

Jack Spensley, manager of the Dicken's Inn in Middlesbrough, said: "It's brilliant. We look forward to it every couple of years whether it's the World Cup or the Euros. Obviously the last time the World Cup was on, it was Qatar and it was played in the winter, but yeah it's something we always look forward to. We spend a lot of time in the run-up to it preparing for it and hopefully England can go the distance and we get a full month out of it as opposed to a couple of weeks.

"We're probably one of the main places in the area for people to sort of congregate and watch the football together. We've seen how much people enjoyed coming here the last time and we've tried to improve on it. We've spent probably month prior to this week preparing for this, so we're really looking forward to it.

"We've had decorators down for a full week painting a lot of the white walls that we've got around the venue with St. George's Cross. We've put hundreds and hundreds of metres of bunting, banners and we've been to warehouses across the North East picking out all the best things and giveaways for customers and things like that."
