Teenager dies after County Durham crash
18 year old woman killed, two others being treated in hospital
An 18 year old woman's died and two other people have been seriously hurt after a collision in County Durham.
It happened on the B6287 between Ferryhill and Kirk Merrington just before 8.30 on Friday evening and involved two cars.
The female driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene.
Her passenger, a 19 year old man, was treated at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The 26 year old driver from the other car was also treated for a leg injury and his passenger - a 27 year old man - remains in hospital in a serious condition.
The Durham Constabulary is asking anyone who might have seen the collision between the two cars - which were travelling in opposite directions - to contact them.
