Targeted Attack in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after a 29-year-old man was hit by a car as he was walking along Middlesbrough Road with a male friend near to the junction of Milbank Street in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred today, Wednesday 26th August at around 11:10am when a vehicle, believed to be a green Ford Focus mounted the pavement and struck the victim in the leg which dragged him along a wall.

It is believed this was a targeted attack on the two males. The victim managed to push his friend out of the way of the moving vehicle before he was hit.

As a result of the attack, the victim has a large laceration to his back and is currently receiving treatment at James Cook University Hospital.

A similar vehicle to the one described was found abandoned in Ash Grove in South Bank and two males were seen leaving the vehicle and they made their way off into the South Bank estate.
