Redcar residents urged to be on guard against cold-callers this winter
Cleveland Police say they have had reports of repeated cold-calling in Redcar recently
Police in Redcar are urging people to be aware of a recent spate of cold callers in the area.
Cleveland Police say we should check in with elderly or vulnerable people and warn them to be on their guard against scammers and rogue traders.
The force tells us that during the winter months they generally see an increase in reports of these types of incidents, with people offering to carry out work including roofing work and cutting down trees or bushes.
Anyone who requires such work is advised to speak to family or friends for recommendations and always try to obtain at least three quotes from reputable traders.
Anyone who has concerns or wishes to report a crime is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
