Redcar blast furnance stoves demolition
On Wednesday 22 March at approximately 9.30am, crews will be conducting an explosive demolition of stoves 1 to 4 of the Redcar Blast Furnace on the Teesworks site.
These are the final structures related to the Redcar Blast Furnace to be brought down, after its main demolition in November.
This will involve multiple simultaneous explosions to bring the 40m tall structures to the ground.
A short section of the Gare Road will be closed from 8:30am to 10:00am, but disruption to the surrounding area will be kept to a minimum. We apologise for any inconvenience and would like to thank the community in advance for their understanding.
