Racial Abuse Incident

Police are appealing for information following an incident involving two vehicles in the Middlesbrough area.

The incident took place between 4.30pm and 4.40pm on Thursday 16th July at the traffic lights at the junctions of Kings Road, Trunk Road and Ormesby Road.

The driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra became racially abusive to the driver of a white van as they headed towards the roundabout with the A66 towards North Ormesby.

The Vauxhall Astra driver was again racially abusive towards the driver of the van at the traffic lights. The van driver got out of his vehicle and approached the silver Astra, which was then driven towards him, colliding with him and causing him to fall over. He suffered minor injuries.

The silver Astra then made off through the red traffic lights, heading towards the Brambles Farm area. The driver is described as an Asian male, aged between 45 and 50, with thick, black hair and wearing a black leather jacket and sunglasses. The vehicle was possibly had a 53 plate registration.
