Police Treating Incident on Westbourne Street as Murder Investigation
Detectives investigating yesterday’s incident on Westbourne Street in Stockton have launched a murder investigation.
Officers were called to a report of an incident at around 7:15am yesterday, Sunday 23rd December, where a 43-year-old man had suffered serious lacerations to his body. He sadly later died in hospital.
A few hours prior to the incident, officers were called to a report of another incident on Yarm Road at around 05:45am which resulted in a 36-year-old man being taken to hospital with a head injury and lacerations to his torso. He has now been released from hospital.
Officers believe that these two incidents are linked.
Yesterday, two men aged 18 and 39 were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with both alleged incidents and they both remain in custody at this time.
Two further men aged 20 and 29 have also been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and they also both remain in custody.
Anyone who believes they have captured relevant CCTV or dashcam footage in the Westbourne Street/ Yarm Road areas at the time of the incidents are asked to contact police.
