Group smashed windows and broke into properties in 'linked and targeted' incidents
Police are hunting a group of balaclava-wearing men who assaulted two women and smashed windows in the Ormesby area.
The gang, some of whom may have been carrying knives, targeted properties on Tebay Close and Alwinton Court on Friday.
It is not thought that either woman needed hospital treatment.
Police say they believe the incidents were 'linked and targeted'.
In a statement, Cleveland Police said: "In the early hours of Friday 25th November, a number of males wearing balaclavas attended an address on Tebay Close, causing damage to windows.
Around 2:30pm the same day, a group attended the same address on Tebay Close and forced their way in before assaulting the female occupant, who did not require any medical treatment.
"Around 3:30am on Friday 25th November a vehicle windscreen was smashed at an address on Alwinton Court by a male wearing a balaclava and around 8:30pm the same day a group wearing balaclavas, and some believed to be carrying bladed weapons, attended the same property on Alwinton Court and assaulted a woman.
"It is not believed that the woman needed medical treatment."
Officers are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those with CCTV footage, or anyone with information to come forward.
