Police launch an appeal following two firearm incidents in Ormesby

Officers say shots have been fired at a property on Ainstable Road

Police are appealing for information on two separate incidents in which some kind of firearm was discharged at a property on Ainstable Road in Ormesby.

On the first occasion, at midnight on Sunday night into yesterday a weapon was discharged at the living room window and at an upper bedroom window causing no damage.

On the second occasion, around 10 minutes past midnight last night (Monday into today) the weapon was discharged at close range at the front door. One occupant sustained a slight pellet wound to his arm.

A man wearing a dark coloured Nike Air hoody with grey sleeves and black tracksuit bottoms was seen at the time however he was wearing a balaclava with a surgical mask over this.

We would appeal for anyone with private CCTV, dash cam or other witnesses to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number and quote Ref 119467.
