Police investigation launched after a stabbing in Middlesbrough

A man, 20, was attacked by a group of males last night (29th March)

Police are currently in the Crescent Road, Ayresome Gardens and Linthorpe Road areas of Middlesbrough after a 20-year-old man was assaulted by a group of other males last night.

Two of the suspects are described by the victim as black males and the other two are described by the victim as while males.

The incident is currently being treated as a targeted attack.

Police were called to Crescent Road at 9.40pm on Wednesday night (29th March) where the victim was located having sustained numerous stab wounds when he was in the children’s play park area of Ayresome Gardens.

The man is currently receiving hospital treatment and his injuries are not currently believed life threatening.

Scene of crime officers and other specialist teams are in the area conducting enquiries as well as extra reassurance patrols - although we do not currently believe there is a risk to the wider public.
