Detectives say it was a 'targeted' attack

Officers remain in and around Yarm Road and Yarm Lane in Stockton after a man in his 30s received stab wounds during an incident yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the area at around 3.40pm on Tuesday (16th August) and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Adjoining roads were cordoned off to allow enquiries to get underway.

While no-one has been arrested at this stage, a dedicated team of officers is pursuing several lines of enquiry and the incident is believed to be a targeted one - with no current risk to the wider public.

We would appeal for any witnesses or people with information, dash cam or CCTV who have not yet spoken to police to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number, quoting ref 145223.

If you don’t want to speak to police, you can pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning 0800 555 111
