Police appeal following collision between a bus and a car by Saltburn

We are appealing for information and any dashcam footage regarding a collision on Saltburn Road just outside Brotton yesterday (Monday 28th November).

At 1.05pm a Vauxhall Corsa travelling up Saltburn Road from Saltburn was in collision with an Arriva bus travelling down Saltburn Road from Brotton.

The Corsa rolled onto its roof and the 40-year-old man driving it sustained what are believed to be serious injuries. He remains in James Cook University Hospital receiving treatment.

An elderly man - in his late 70s - who was a passenger on the bus was also taken to hospital to be checked over.

The road was closed for several hours to allow vehicle recoveries and for collision investigation work to begin. It reopened at 5pm.
