Appeal after Stockton Lidl assault

Police are appealing after a man was left with a fractured hip in an assault in Lidl, Stockton.

The incident happened in the Tower Street store around 2:05pm on Sunday 19th March.

A man, aged 80, was waiting to be served in company with his wife when another man pushed him, causing him to fall over and fracture his hip. The man spent a number of days at the University Hospital of North Tees whilst receiving treatment.

The suspect then left the store and made off on to Stockton High Street. He is described as a white male, aged late sixties to early seventies, 5ft 8” tall, with grey hair which was balding at the top, wearing glasses, a dark coat with a white or cream jumper underneath and a black collared shirt under the jumper.
