Darlington defender in hospital after a bleed on the brain
He's being treated at a specialist hospital
Darlington FC defender Paddy Almond is in hospital with a bleed on the brain.
He was substituted in yesterday's FA Trophy clash at Southend, initially because they thought he could be concussed.
The Sunderland academy graduate was taken to hospital has a precaution, where a scan on his brain revealed a bleed.
Almond,20, is now receiving specialist treatment at an unnamed London hospital.
In a statement on twitter, the club have said, "After a brain scan at Southend Hospital, Paddy has been diagnosed with a bleed on the brain, and is currently being transferred to a specialist London hospital for further treatment.
"Paddy is in our thoughts, and we continue to wish him a speedy recovery"
