NE Campaigners Take Brain Tumour Petition To Downing Street
A North East woman with a terminal brain tumour will today take a petition for more funding into the condition to downing street.
Anna Swaby from Newton Aycliffe says it is too late for her - but she hopes more research will be done into brain tumours so others can survive.
It’s one the biggest cancer killer of people under the age of 40.
Yet, last year, the issue received less than 2% of the money spent on cancer research.
Anna told TFM if it proves successful, it could save hundreds of lives across not just the North East but the UK.
“This enquiry will delve deeper into finding out evidence as to why brain tumours need more research. So they will be speaking to clinicians, consultants, heads of charities and patients like me, who can obviously share their own experiences with the MP’s.”
